I can't answer your question from experience because i'm not at that end. But to quote you something i once heard that is so true- "If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can't buy". I survive everyday by putting this thought into acton. And also keep in mind " .. Ki lo bemoso yikach hakol..." Hatzlacha
Rich people aren't necessarily happier than non-rich people, but I think that in general, people with financial security are happier than people without financial security.
Anonymous, you are write and wrong. That is why i didnt' give an answer. I left it as open ended. I think you hit the nail on the head dremaer. It's an illusion of happiness. (Just as money is an illusion)
It didn't sound stupid at all. I didn't say they are not happy cuz of it. I said that it's something to think about. There are definately rough things that come as a result of lacking money. But that doesn't mean that they are happier, because they might have other worries that we don't have.
People can think I am amazing for believing in Hashem so much....to the extent that I "Put my money where my mouth is".
They don't realize that I have no other choice. Hashem is the only One who can help us.
This shiur, which I downloaded from AishAudio.com literally changed my life. I would not be able to give 95-105% of my income to my parents if not for this. It gives me peace of mind, allows me to sleep. I do not get a commission for this, but I seriously reccommend every person in the world to listen to it. Rabbi Yagen has a very strong accent, but don't let it bother you. Just listen and enjoy the way your life becomes easier.

Yes, Rikki, you are very right. Money isn't everything.
And also, just because they have money, doesn't mean they don't have other problems....

nope.
they're not.
but they may think they are.

there is one time when money can have a part in leading to happiness...like when money pays for therapy to lead to eventual possible happiness...
why did that sound stupider than it looks in my head??
